Guardianship

The position of Finance Director involves taking care of three aspects of the EUS Finances: The budget, the online payments through Yapsody and the guardianship. Although the role is formally described in the financial bylaws, it tends to change every year depending on what special projects there are and depending on the VP Finance's and the Finance Director's prefered areas of focus.

The Budget

The EUS makes its budget by asking each group for their budget three times a year: during the summer, the fall and the winter. It is the Finance Director's job to collect the budget and to answer questions regarding individual budgets. Then, the Finance Director compiles all the budgets into the EUS operational budget and presents it to the Board of Governors for approval.

Online Payments

The Finance director is in charge of managing everything related to online payments. This includes creating new events on Yapsody, making the deposits in the EUS account and helping the event organizers by answering their questions about the system.

Guardianship

The final duty of the Finance Director is to monitor the groups that are placed under guardianship in order to make sure that their balance goes back to positive after a year.
