Colloquium is the annual departmental trip hosted by the CEUS. The trip lasts 4 days and consists of industry tours as well as social events. The location varies every year but is usually a Canadian city within driving distance of Montreal. Past locations have included cities as close as Ottawa to as far as Fredericton. The trip happens at the end of September.
Industry Tours
Industry tours usually happen during the day. They include a wide variety of civil engineering projects. Tours have included water and wastewater treatment plants, construction sites, recycling plants, power plants, retrofitting projects and labs of local engineering schools to name a few.
Social Events
Social events are often planned with the civil engineering departments of the local engineering schools, in hopes of being shown the city's hidden gems. In the past they've included wine and cheeses, pub crawls and tours of the city.
