The McGill Engineering Student Centre (MESC) offers many services to undergraduate students, integrating the Student Affairs Office (SAO), academic advising and peer tutoring, and the Engineering Career Centre (ECC). The Student Affairs Office provides engineering student support, particularly in the key areas below. The office also administers students’ records and is an important resource for policies and procedures related to student affairs.

Student Affairs Office

MESC is the "Student Affairs Office" (SAO) for engineering students; other faculties may have their own equivalent SAO. MESC is a one-stop-shop for advising, peer tutoring, scholarships and awards, exchange and study abroad programs, counselling, orientation, administrative questions, and many other student services. The office is responsible for administering policies on student records, student assessment, and implementing the accreditation process on programs. Students are encouraged to contact MESC in all matters related to their student experience, and is also a primary resource for information on other services within the Faculty and across the University.

Advising

Appointments Mon - Fri, 2PM - 4PM
Drop-ins Mon - Fri, 10AM - 12PM

Advising and assisting students in program planning and in the proper selection of courses, so that all students understand the education goals of the University and follow programs that coincide with their talents, interests and goals.

Peer Tutoring

The Engineering Peer Tutoring Service is sponsored by the Faculty of Engineering, and is designed to help Year 0 and Year 1 students. EPTS has been around for over 40 years, assisting the transition from high school and CEGEP to university. Tutorial sessions are conducted daily in the McGill Engineering Student Centre (MESC) on the ground floor of the Frank Dawson Adams Building, Room 6B. Their schedule can be found here.

Iron Ring

MESC, in conjunction with the Graduation Committee, organizes Iron Ring Ceremonies, ring fittings, replacements, and more.
